Inventory Color List
This FAQ will go over the inventory color list in Paradigm.
The inventory color list can be found by clicking the gear icon beside the color drop down:
Entering Colors
Color and Code
The first two columns allow choosing the color name (Color) and color abbreviation (Code). Paradigm will not show any warnings or errors if multiple colors have the same abbreviation, but it is recommended to have a unique code for each color. Choosing a good abbreviation brings the benefits of consistent product codes as well as simplifying use of the Color Switcher tool.
Display Color and Text Color
The Display Color is what will be used throughout the program for the selected color name, anywhere that a color square is displayed. In situations where the text is shown inside the color square, the Text Color will be used to determine what color the text will be set to. It is recommended for Display Color values that are darker to choose the Text Color value of #FFFFFF (White) so that the text is easier to read. If the Text Color value is empty, the program will choose the default color of black. One example of where the Display Color shows up in the program is in the Product Finder.
Finish
The Finish column gives the ability to indicate the type of paint for each color.
Editing Finishes
The options for what paint finishes show in the drop down for this column can be edited by clicking on the Edit Finishes button at the top right corner of the Inventory Color window. The Finish Names must be unique. Each Finish can be paired with one of the four Texture options: None, Light, Moderate, and Heavy.
Selecting a Finish
Use drop down in the Finish column to select the Finish for each color.
Sort
The colors will be sorted in color lists throughout the program according to the values that are set in this column, ascending from smallest to largest. If the sort values are the same for multiple colors, the program will sort them alphabetically by color name.
Selecting A Color On An Item
Once the colors are entered, select the corresponding color from the drop down on the item.
