Create GL Accounts

This FAQ will go over how to create GL accounts in Paradigm.

Chart Of Accounts

To start, go to General Ledger > Chart of Accounts

Click the “Add” button.

Then select an account type by clicking on one or pressing the underlined letter on the keyboard that corresponds with the account type.

Next, enter an account ID.

If an duplicate account number is entered, the window will reappear with the following message: An account with this account ID already exists.

Then fill out all of the information for the GL account and click “Save” when it is completed. To save and add a new account, click the “Add” button or “Ctrl + N“.

• Report Use Tax on purchases made on this account – When the GL account is on an order/invoice detail line for a WIP job or a transaction with a “Use Tax” code, this setting controls if that line’s cost counts towards the total taxable cost when a use tax code is assigned to the transaction.
